Jack Davies - Orange Moon Glow - Vinyl LP (FYR-025)
Jack Says:
I recorded a solo album in July, at Easy Machine Studios. I'm happy to announce this will be released in full on Thursday November 7th. It was recorded in a day and a half, one or two takes on each song, a run of banjo and harmonies over top. JB (who engineered the record) often howling in the background. Quick enough to get in and out of the studio without the walls caving in, as they often like to do. Like a living room gig with better microphones, and my non-existent identical twin on banjo. I wanted to capture the songs I’ve been playing recently in a more true to the form and feeling sorta way. The pastel drawing on the cover is much the same. It's what the drive over the nullarbor looked like, except I drew this from memory whilst out the front of the laundromat in Townsville, waiting for my pants to dry. Not so magical, but that's life. This album is short and to the point, JB reckons it's a morning album. I hope you think it's a nice to listen to album. Either way if you want one, here's your chance. Pre-sales are planned to be mailed out around November 14th, the same day I pick up the vinyl, though we will keep you updated if there are any delays. Thanks, and thanks again.
